Rezulin was
a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes until
March 21, 2000
when it was recalled. Rezulin was intended
to help patients with type 2 diabetes
who needed to regulate their insulin and
blood sugar levels. Approved by the Food
and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1997,
its potentially deadly effects on the
liver were known for some time.
